Year 2 Concert

This past week the kids school did a play called "The Button Box". All 3 classes of Y2 did part of the story. Since Ethan, Aerin and Isabel are in different classes the whole production was interesting to us. Unlike most parents who have to sit through 2/3 of the concert in order to see their child perform for a few seconds! The basic story was about 2 kids visiting with their grandparents. The Grandmother tells them about all the interesting places their Great Uncle Jack traveled to as the Captain of a sailing ship. Each adventure is represented by a different button in Grandma's Button Box. The purpose was to show things about all the different countries and cultures of the children who attend St. Christophers International School.
Here(in pink) is Isabel dressed as a Malay villager dancing in one of the numbers her class did. Her class covered India, Ireland and Malaysia.

Here is Aerin as a Surfer girl in Hawaii. They danced on boogy boards to Surfing Safari. Super cute. Her class also covered Africa and had a really cute number with kids dressed up as different African animals.

Next is the full cast singing the opening number. As you can see there are alot of kids involved.

The last picture shows Ethan as an Australian Aborigine. He is holding a digiridoo. His class covered China and Australia.

We were completely surprised by how good the Concert was. We went in anticipating a usual child production and we amazed. It was really well done. We continue to be surprised by how talented and self confident our children are. And the school is just fabulous. We will get a professional DVD of the concert(from the school for a small fee) to inflict upon you when we return! :-)

  1. Holy cow! That looks like it really was quite the production. Bet your kids loved it (seems right up their alley). Ethan cracks me up as an aborigine.
