Ok, I figured out how to add more than one picture - now I just need to figure out how to format them! Oh well, one step at a time. Last weekend we went to visit the Kek Lok Si temple. It is a famous landmark here and is very popular, especially during Chinese new year. The temple is lit up with thousands of lights and chinese lanterns for the two weeks of Chinese new year and a few weeks before and after. The big statue of the goddess of prosperity is over 100ft (35 meters) tall - it is hard to see from the pic, but you can kind of see the heads of a few people at the very bottom to kind of give you a feel for the scale. The pillars that you can see holding it up are 4-5 feet in diameter and are covered from top to bottom in intricate carvings. Very cool! There are several different buildings, all lit up and all filled with statues of diff

One thing we are starting to get used to here is that everyone wants to take pictures of the kids. Everywhere we go people just walk up to them and have friends start taking pictures - the kids are starting to get used to it (Isa loves it, of course, since she is a big ham. Ethan usually runs)

this pic shows some of the lights - the main building with the huge statue is off to the left so you can't see it in this one. Anyway, we had a lot of fun and got to see some really cool stuff. We plan on going back when it is light so we can get some better pictures - Kaylynn could go crazy here!
very cool you guys! thanks for posting!
